Member deletions in effect. Lurkers, please read!

Ok gang, we are coming up on our one year anniversary of the Eye of Thundera, New Thundera site. With that comes the unwanted yet necessary deletions of members who have never contributed to the site. Nearly everyday we get people who register to become members here, yet many of these new "members" never visit again after registering, even when we send them a welcome e-mail. We also get members who register and might visit infrequently, but they never make a single post.

This is unacceptable.

If you are one of these members who likes to come to the site to just browse around and enjoys reading the stories, viewing the art, or just watching us make fools of ourselves, that is quite alright. We do like that people can come here just to have a smile on their face, but we do ask that if you wish to continue to come here, please, just make one post. With at least one post on your account, you can continue to lurk all you want. It can be as simple as saying "Hi, I'm so and so, and I just come here to see the fun."

This weekend, there will be an e-mail sent out to members that have never made a post yet still visit the site, asking them to make a post or their account will be deleted. Those members who have never made a post and haven't been on the site since the day they registered will be deleted automatically, no e-mail warning.

We do this because frankly, these members that never post still take up space when they are approved as members. Each time a member is approved, they get their own page and they are added to the members list, both of which take space on our servers, which, at times, can slow down the connection speed on the site. It also makes us look bad saying that we have so many members, yet maybe only one third or one fourth of the members actually contribute.

With this in mind, the administration is implementing a new policy regarding new, unposting members. New members that sign up but never visit the site within two months of their registration will be automatcially deleted, no questions asked. Lurking members will receive a warning giving them two weeks to make at least one post. If they do not respond, their account will be deleted.

So please, if you are a member with a zero post count, or are wanting to join, make a post, ANY POST, so your account will not be deleted.

For those of you who have already made one or more posts here on the site, this will not apply to you, so you have nothing to worry about. This is only for members who have the number "0" by their name in the Members area.

So, posting members, Bravo!!!! Keep on posting cause you all make this site the great place it is!

Leanna is correct Leppardra. You are, and always have been, a contributing member of this site. There is nothing at all wrong with infrequent posting, heck, I am guilty of that myself lately. This topic was made as a suggestion to all the site lurkers and explanation as to why the membership count on this site will be seen going down.

Any member who has made a post, even if it is only one post, and never again, is alright. As you have a post count of 39, you are more than safe

Well, it took a good hour and two cups of coffee, but the membership list is now up to date. Those on the list are either posting members, members who have been shown to frequent the site and have received an e-mail or pm asking them to please make a post to stay active, or are still fairly new members.

Unfortunately our membership count did go down from 120 to 75, but even so, with over 13,000 post in one year from our regular members, that is just simply amazing. 13,000 posts!!! I mean, can you say wow or what?!!!!!! There are sites that boasts of having hundreds of members but don't have nearly the amount of posts or topics we do.

Say what you like, but Thundercat Fans RULE!!!!!

Hey all. I've lurked for years (without an account), but this actually prompted me to make an account and actually post. Plus, with the new series coming up, and the possibility of a movie to follow - well I may as well do my part in showing WB that Thundercats really is a brand worth reviving.
