Fan Fic board is down

For those who haven't noticed the Fan Fic portion of the site is currently down.  We are currently working on this situation and things should back to normal soon.  Following getting everything restored we plan on doing a forum software update.  If everything goes according to plan you guys shouldn't notice a thing but if things go wonky we appologize in advance and will fix everything as soon as possible.

Yes, it should still come up. It's just that we can't create new boards or change who views the ones we have now.

All of the fan fics are saved in the Salvaged Area, the first category you will see on the forum. We just had a slight mishap and as soon as Lyonnarra can implement the mysql files, we should be able to get this taken care of. Again, please bear with us.

Well, we are still having problems with fixing the fic boards (have to put in the correct commands in the mysql files to repair the parent board) but I may have a temporary solution for those wanting to showcase their stories. I experimented with moving my first story, Doorway of the Gods, to my art forum, and it worked! My story is now accessible to everyone, not just those who have moderator abilities.

I plan on moving the more popular of my stories to my art section and any new stories will be posted in there. Once the fic boards are repaired, it will be easy to move the stories right back to my fic section. If anyone else would like to do the same, let me know and I will work on it in my spare time.

Ok Tara and Purrsia, all of your stories, chapters, and pinned topics have been moved and notices of major story movement placed in the Salvage Area. By this I mean if anyone goes looking for a particular story in the Salvage Area, they know where to go. Although it appears that the topics moved into place in the order that they were last posted, I still tried to move the topics in the order of bottom up and according to chapter. Tara, most of your stories are on the last 2 to 3 pages of your art forum, but more might be mixed in among your art pieces, according to the date it was last posted upon.

Purrsia, all of your posts remained locked or pinned, according to how you first set them up (THANK GOD!!!) so neither you or I should have to do anything to fix them.

I have been talking to Lyonnarra about the mysql. I'm not going to make any promises yet, but I swear *Adopts a Scarlett O'hara stance* As Jaga as my witness, we will get the fic boards back up and running some day!!!*

I have a thought - could you create a new fic board and author forums in it, and just move the stuff from the salvage area to it? Could be an option if you can't get the sql to work for you.

No, the board area of the site is inaccessible. In order to regain the board commands, we have to go into the mysql and find the right code to reinstall the board parent. We are having trouble finding that code.

mysql is a bitch ain't it?  I took a class in college.  Ugh.
